So they lie to achieve their goals. We believe them to achieve our goals. They string us along and say they're trying, we believe that they're trying because who wakes up plotting to be a lying piece of shit?
They're very alert to signs of abandonment so they throw us a crumb and we think "they finally get it. we're making progress ð¥°phew, I'm glad I didn't leave" and then we get used to these mini payouts and keep waiting and waiting and waiting while the periods of abuse and mistreatment last longer.
