Getting started takes a few minutes:
If you have a supervision account and you would like to trial our paid option, click "Upgrade" on your dashboard.
Parents can create a supervisory account to link their child's school account by clicking the link beneath the pricing options on the parent pricing page .
A parent account allows you to oversee your child's learning on Studyladder. You only need one account, even with multiple children or new school accounts each year.
Once you have a parent account, you can:
- For passwords, if it is a student's school account set up by their teacher, the teacher holds those login details, so just ask the teacher to reset it if necessary.
- With a paid parent account, any student added or linked to it gets full, unlimited access to Studyladder at home and at school.
To set one up, go to Studyladder, select Join Now, then Parent account, select the plan, and add or link your children from there.
Or if your child has a school account, create it from the prompt in your child's student account, or go to the parent pricing page and click the link below the pricing section that indicates how to create a parent supervision account.
If you created a parent account linked to your child's account, you can log in to view your child's details. If you haven't, we can't provide login information without verifying that you're the parent.
If the child has a school account, the child's teacher has full access to their login details.
Contact the teacher for this information.
The most common cause is that your child has logged into their old student account. This can happen when it has been saved onto a device. Get them to fully log out of this account, then log in again with the username and password provided by the teacher.
There are several possible reasons:
Every activity your child completes is scored and reported back to you, so you can see how they are going at a glance.
Log in to your parent account to view their progress and results, and Studyladder also emails you updates monthly, so you do not have to go looking.
As your child completes activities, they earn points, and points unlock rewards that keep them motivated to keep going. They can enjoy game time, build their avatar and work towards certificates as they reach milestones.
With Home Plus (paid access), they get the full set: premium avatar items, the Treehouse extension, unlimited game time, and more.
You can access and reprint all of your child's certificates anytime from your parent account.
Yes. Studyladder includes NAPLAN-style practice across numeracy and literacy, so students can get familiar with the question types in a low-pressure way. You will find these in the NAPLAN section of our resources.
Studyladder covers the primary years, from the first year of school through to the end of Year 6. The core is Mathematics and English literacy, along with Science, plus activities across visual arts, health and safety, and Digital technologies.
There is also NAPLAN-style practice for Australian students. Every activity is written by experienced teachers and aligned to the curriculum.
Studyladder runs in a web browser, so it works on most computers, tablets and Chromebooks with nothing to install. For the smoothest experience, we recommend Google Chrome and a reliable internet connection.
If an activity is not loading or a login is not working, switching to Chrome is the quickest first fix, as older browsers can block parts of the site.
Yes, keeping children safe is built into how Studyladder works. We do not hold students' email addresses and we never communicate with children through the site.
Student accounts are for learning only, with no messaging or contact from outside. You can read exactly how we handle data in our Privacy Policy and on our GDPR page.
The only people with unlimited access are those with Home Plus (paid) access or if a school is paying for the unlimited school tier.
Supervision Parents — schools or teachers must pay for StudyLadder access for classroom use or homework. Depending on the school's payment plan, your child can still use StudyLadder outside school hours for up to 3 activities or games for homework and practice, with some restrictions.
Paid parents — if your child has limitations, log in to your parent account to check or link the correct student account for full access. It may not have linked the students' new year school account. Check the guides in the Help menu of your parent account for assistance. Or contact us for more help.
When you sign up for a parent account, Studyladder will email you a quick link whenever you earn a new certificate.
Don't Worry — you can access all certificates from your parent account dashboard under “Certificates”.
Check out the guides on the Help menu of your parent account.
We don't communicate with students using our site, and we don't hold their email addresses.
A teacher account is set up for a large number of students within similar grade levels and must be linked to a school.
A paid parent account is set up to better address each child's needs.
All the same teaching materials are available on paid parent accounts, and all our tutorial videos are available there as well.
If you are a member of a home education association, check whether we offer discounts for your membership.
An activity will not be marked completed unless the student achieves the Dark green smiley face (over 80%).
When you go to the Studyladder site, we direct you to the one that applies to your country: studyladder.com.au, studyladder.co.nz, studyladder.co.uk, studyladder.ca or studyladder.com.
This will map to the correct spelling and curriculum for your region. However, we occasionally see people using a VPN or similar service to disguise their location. If we cannot determine your location, or if your location is not Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Canada or the USA, then you will be sent to studyladder.com.
It is easy to change to your correct curriculum before you sign in. At the very top right of the screen, select your country. Then sign in, and you will see the correct curriculum.
Parents and guardians can archive from within their parent accounts.
Click the cross next to the student's avatar and name on your parent dashboard to archive the student.
You can reverse this by going to the archive folder on your dashboard.
If you have paid for our 12-month Parent subscription, you can request a full refund within 14 days of payment . Email us at [email protected] or [email protected] and request the refund. Please email us using the email address that you used on your account with us.
Will I still have access after cancelling? Yes, your access continues until the end of your current billing period.
Can I restart my subscription later? Yes, you can reactivate it anytime through your parent dashboard.
Passwords are confidential. To reset your password:
Once you reset your password you'll have access to the account.
1: If the child's password isn't working, double-check the letter L, letter I and the number 1 — these often get confused.
2: Try logging in with a different browser. We recommend Google Chrome.
3: If the child's account was set up by their teacher, ask the teacher for the password.
1: Verification emails sometimes land in junk or spam. Please check there first.
2: Emails with "verify" in the subject line will verify your account.
Yes. Home subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period, so your child's access continues without a gap, charged at your plan's current rate.
You can cancel anytime from your parent dashboard in Manage Subscription, and your access stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for.
Studyladder subscriptions renew automatically, so a charge is usually the renewal of an existing account.
To help us find it quickly, email [email protected] from the email address on the account. If you are not sure which email was used, send us your child's username and any other email you may have used.
We will help locate the account and confirm the charge amount.
If you're on a single-student subscription, you'll need to upgrade to a Family subscription to include the additional child.
To do this, visit the Manage Subscription section on your parent account and update your subscription through the Studyladder payment portal (located at the top right). Choose the family option to add another student to your subscription.
You can switch between monthly, quarterly and yearly billing from your parent dashboard.
Yes. Some School plans only cover your child during school hours, with a few activities from home. To unlock full unlimited access at home, upgrade and get a subscription on a parent account, then make sure you have linked your child's student account to it.
Everything opens up at home, including all activities, printables and tutorial videos, and your child keeps the same account and progress.
If you have a promo or voucher code, enter it when you subscribe or upgrade, and the discount will apply to your total before you pay. Enter the code exactly as it was given to you, as codes may be case-sensitive.
Our Family subscription covers 4 children under one subscription at a much better value per child than a single-child subscription, so siblings can each have their own account.
Yes. If you belong to a home education association, we may also offer a member discount, so it is worth asking us before you subscribe.
Your child does not lose their account. If you cancel or a subscription lapses, the account stays and their points and history remain, but access drops back to the limited free level rather than full Home Plus.
You can reactivate anytime from your parent dashboard and pick up right where you left off.
If your child's account is linked to another parent account, we can't unlink them — that's to protect your child's security.
To link the account to yours:
To sign up for a Studyladder teacher account, you must be a teacher or educator, or be studying education at a university or college.
You must work at a school as we define it for school use, and you must be linked to a school for your account to operate.

When you create a teacher account, or change schools, you need to add or update your school details.
Linking your school when creating an account:
Changing your school after account creation:
There can be a few reasons:
At the start of a new year, you can get your class ready in a few steps. Create your new class, add your students, then set Learning Pods as usual.
If your students used Studyladder last year, they can carry their points and progress across. When they log in to their new account, they may be prompted to merge points from their old account the first few times, or they can do it at any time from the Student Profile Menu under “Merge to new account”.
However, children occasionally attempt to create parent or teacher accounts. We run a range of security checks but can't always pick up every attempt. Some schools and districts allocate email addresses to students that can't be distinguished from those given to teachers — in those cases, our automated emails may be sent to a child.
When you visit Studyladder, we direct you to the site that applies to your country. If your country can't be detected (for example, via a VPN), you'll be sent to studyladder.com.
To change to your correct curriculum before signing in, select your country from the top right of the screen. Then sign in and you'll see the correct curriculum.
Yes. Create a teacher account using the email address supplied by your educational institution, then link to a school in your area or where you're known. Perhaps where you've completed some prac teaching.
We are now allowing tutoring businesses and tutors to use StudyLadder.
We recommend the unlimited tier, as it includes full access 24/7 for you, your colleagues, and your students.
For more information, please contact us.
Our activities are aimed at children aged 4 to 12. They are child-centric activities that speak to children in a tone suitable for a child up to 12 years of age.
Studyladder does not provide any higher learning resources for adults.
Our student accounts prompt children to have a parent create a free parent account, which can be an awkward situation for adult learners.
School administrators can print an invoice or payment receipt by choosing Manage Subscription from their admin page. Invoices and receipts can be downloaded by clicking the arrow within the Invoice History section.
Any teacher linked to a school will have school subscriptions automatically applied to their accounts.
When students receive a new account from the school, they can merge their previous account’s points, coins and certificates into their new student account.
(Some teachers prefer a fresh account.)
All online activities score student progress and report back to teachers and parents. If a student's results are not showing, it may be that the student did not complete the task, as activities only score on completion.
If a student's activities are not displaying correctly, please contact us.
This is usually because the student has logged into an old account. The username is shown next to their avatar at the top of the page.
While in class, teachers can restrict students' access to various parts of the site by clicking the access control button on their dashboard.
The restrictions will only remain in place while the teachers' dashboard is open. Access will return once off the dashboard.
Under the resources tab on the top menu, you can find printable worksheets or teaching packs.
Alongside the online activities, Studyladder has a large library of printable worksheets, teaching packs and resources you can use in class or send home.
Most pre-primary lessons include text-to-speech using an authentic voice. Users can use the text-to-speech functionality with most current browsers for lower and upper primary lessons.

Once a teacher creates a class, they can create groups within the class.
When you return to the main dashboard, refresh the page to ensure everything updates correctly.
When you next create a learning pod, the group will become an option for setting the work to.
Teachers can create multiple Learning Pods at any time. Any Learning Pods they create will be added to their My Pod Library within the learning pod area. You can also schedule Learning Pods for a later date to assign to the class or groups.
To set a Learning Pod for a class or group, you can do this in multiple ways:
To unassign a pod from a class or group, click the break link icon in the action bar. Pods are reusable and can be assigned or removed at any time.
When you unassign the Learning Pod, it will be removed from your student's set tasks immediately.
Teachers can delete Learning Pods in My Pod Library by clicking the red bin icon in the action bar.
If you would like to save your Learning Pod for another time, you can download it and store it on your computer as a backup. Click the download button for this option.
To start over, you can also delete your entire pod library. In the Bulk actions bar, select the red bin icon to permanently delete all of them.
This will permanently delete the library, so be sure to back it up by clicking the Upload icon in the Bulk actions bar.
Studyladder is built for this. The easiest way to differentiate is to group your students by level, then set a different Learning Pod for each group.
Every student then works on tasks pitched at their level, all at the same time. Pods are reusable and can be scheduled ahead, so you can prepare a set for each level once and swap or reassign them whenever you need. As results come in, just move a student to another group or update the pod to keep the challenge right.
A school administrator can check their school's hours by choosing School > School details. To change school hours, contact [email protected] .
Experienced teachers create all the content in Studyladder. Outcome-based activities allow teachers to set tasks and develop programs relevant to their students' needs.
The content in Studyladder is developed using curriculum outcomes from Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, the United States and Canada.
Please see our curriculum page to see how we align.
You cannot link a student account directly to a class. Instead, create a new student account along with the class.
The parent with paid access can log in to their account, go to student settings, and merge the new class account with their home account. This process transfers all points and certificates to the new class account.
Parents: check out the guides on the Help menu of your parent account to assist with this process.
Passwords are confidential. To reset your password, click the login button below, then Forgot password. Once you reset your password, you'll have access to the account.
Verification emails sometimes land in junk or spam. Please check there first. Emails with "verify" in the subject line will verify your account.
If your school network or firewall is blocking Studyladder, your IT team will usually need to allow our website, along with the domains we use for content and videos.
Email [email protected] , and we will send your IT team the information they need.
Three options, depending on how much access students get at home:
Choose "invoice" if paying by bank transfer.
When a payment is made for your school, any teachers linked to the school will have their accounts automatically activated as the admin fee is applied to their accounts.
For online payments, receipts are emailed to the user who created the account as soon as the payment is made.
For bank transfers, receipts are emailed to the user who created the account once the payment is received and processed.
If you need a receipt emailed at any time, send your request to [email protected] quoting the invoice number.
To pay by invoice, choose the plan you wish to subscribe to and choose Pay Now. Then select a payment method — either online or by invoice.
Renewing is straightforward. From your admin page, choose Manage Subscription, select your plan for the year, then pay online or request an invoice.
If the person who set up the account has left the school, email [email protected] , and we will update the admin details so you can renew without losing your school's history.
