Pakistani nationals non-resident in the European Union, and wishing to study in France in an academic program for a duration superior to 3 months , should apply for a Long-Stay Student Visa (VLS-TS).
Pakistani nationals residing in Pakistan, and residents in Pakistan who are not nationals from the European Union, wishing to study in an academic program in France should apply to Long-Stay Visa used as Residence Permit (VLS-TS) (Visa Long Séjour valant Titre de Séjour)
This visa entitles to residency for the duration of the program without requesting a residency permit.
Students admitted in an academic program at PhD level with a Doctoral Fellowship or Post-PhD level should apply to Talent Passport Long-Stay Visa. Etudes en France process is not required.
As a general rule, all Pakistani applicants to Long-Stay Student visa (VLS-TS) have to apply through Etudes en France (EeF).
Every applicant should apply to its Campus France of residence. If you are currently living/studying in another country than Pakistan, you MUST apply in your country of residence, and then create a new EeF file with the Campus France of your country of residence.
Campus France Pakistan only process the applications of Pakistani nationals residing in Pakistan and non-EU foreign nationals residing in Pakistan.
Application through Etudes en France is not required in these specific cases :
- Academic program is online and no mobility to France is required.
- Academic program is a PhD with Doctoral Fellowship.
- Internship in France.
- Applicant is a Pakistani national and resident in the European Union.
All applicants have to complete their Etudes en France (EeF) application before to start the visa application process. Instructions have to be followed with the highest scrutiny.
In case of application to French public Higher Education Institutions through EeF platform (Candidature campaign, "I am applying" Tab), all the steps are indicated here . Whenever the applicant confirms his choice of HEI, he can proceed with the visa application process.
In case of direct admission in a French Higher Education Institution (Preconsular campaign, "I am accepted" Tab), all the steps are indicated here . Whenever the applicant receives the payment confirmation notification, he can proceed with the visa application process.
Whenever conditions are met, applicants can :
Step 1 : Fill and complete the France Visa form on the France Visas website . Step 2 : Schedule a student visa appointment at the French Consulate in Islamabad (Diplomatic Enclave) through the AEG website . Step 3 : Arrive at the consulate for your interview at the specified time mentioned in the AEG notice.
After the consulate interview, the French consulate assesses your application and renders a decision between 2 weeks and 2 months . A notification is sent whenever passport can be collected from AEG center.
Campus France Pakistan has no impact on the consulate decision. The French consulate as per French law is sovereign to render a decision. In case of visa refusal, the decision can be contested as indicated on the visa refusal notification.
