The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s story revolved around freeing the spirits of deceased champions from the corrupted Divine Beasts. These flashbacks formed a lot of the sentimental attachment players had with the story, which made characters such as Mipha a fan favorite.
With that in mind, players want to know if the champions will be featured in the new Legend of Zelda franchise, Tears of the Kingdom .
The common sense answer would be no. This is because the champions are all deceased and their spirits have been freed from the clutches of Ganon. They served their purpose and moved on with their stories completed in the first game.

However, there might be more than meets the eye when it comes to the roles they can play. For example, similar to Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, Tears of the Kingdom may involve things such as time travel, which would allow us to meet the departed heroes once more.
With the time reversal power Link receives in his new arm, this theory might be more likely than you may think. Furthermore, the voice actor for Daruk may have accidentally spoiled the role of the champions in Tears of the Kingdom. In his interview with Lega Hyrule, the voice actor for the Goron champion mentioned he would be voice acting for another Goron character from the past.
He also mentioned that he would be voicing Daruk again, which is surprising since we assumed the role of the Champions was over. This might mean that we get to meet with the Champions from Breath of the Wild once more in Tears of the Kingdom. Their stories were heartbreaking, and we hope to see them find happiness at the end of their respective stories.
