If you opt to save Mayrina by activating the Control Orb near the pit, there are a few ways you can go about doing so. You could simply send one of your party members over to the orb, target it with Mage Hand , or hit the orb with a ranged attack. The only caveat with this method is youâll need to defeat Auntie Ethel before the Gnarled Cage holding Mayrina falls. The Barbarian, Karlach , proves to be an exceptionally helpful companion in accomplishing this, as she has Advantage .
If you choose to put out the fire in an attempt to save Mayrina, youâll need either a bottle of water or a Spellcaster with access to the Create or Destroy Water spell . Once the fire has been eliminated, Auntie Ethel will take on the appearance of Mayrina to confuse you. However, itâs relatively easy to discern which of the women is disguised, as the real Mayrina will still be wet from the water. Even so, youâll then need to beat the hag once and for all.
