Season 3 of Diablo 4 is live and the hype is real. The best part of the Season of the Construct is that you get a construct of your own . That’s right, you get a Senechal Companion. This little mechanical buddy can help you out in various ways, predominantly in combat. You can modify and upgrade it in any way you please, as long as you have the right materials. First off, it is important to note that the Seneschal scales in power as your Seasonal Character does . So, the higher the level of your character, the more powerful the Seneschal is.
Seneschal Companion can have two Governing Stones active at one time. These determine which two abilities your Companion will have. There are 12 in total: four Melee, four Ranged, and four Utility. Additionally, you can get Tuning Stones , that modify those abilities. Modifications like greater area of effect, increases to the number of targets hit, modifying the type of damage, adding Bleed , Vulnerable , etc, and that can lead to some crazy combos. Each active Governing Stone can have up to three Tuning Stones attached to it.
You can get these stones by participating in Season 3 events and dungeons , and you can also craft them. The best way to get Stones is to clear Vaults. When you clear a Vault , you will get a random Tuning Stone . Additionally, if you clear a Vault while still having some stacks of Zoltun’s Warding , you can open some Wardwoven Chests . These contain a random Governing or Tuning Stone . There are also two rare and powerful Tuning Stones that you get by defeating the Echo of Malphas . If you manage to get them, your Seneschal Construct ‘s power will be significantly increased. Now, let’s see how to craft these Stones.
To craft new Stones, you have to visit the Jeweler . There you will have the option to combine Shattered Stones (obtained by destroying Constructs , usually found in Vaults and Arcane Tremors ) and Iron Chunks (obtained by mining Ore Veins and Glittering Ore Veins ) into an Uncertain Seneschal Stone Cache . When you open it, a random Stone will drop. What happens if you get a duplicate?
If you loot or craft a Stone you already have, you can fuse them together. This will give that Stone some “experience” and eventually will level it up. The greater the level, the greater the potency and power of these Stones. In the case of Governing Stones , upgrades can directly affect the power of the attack it provides. More powerful Tuning Stones can, for example, add additional projectiles or modify the damage type.
