Trying to figure out how to make it night in Hogwarts Legacy? You’re not alone. We’ll go over the steps you need to take to change the time of day and start time-specific quests on your playthrough.
Hogwarts Legacy is chock-full of lengthy questlines and one-stop side quests to keep you busy on your playthrough. Whether you’re attempting a speedrun or you’ve decided to take your time with tasks, the clock doesn’t always align with the mission at hand. Because some quests are time-specific, this can pose a problem. You can always opt to switch gears and take on different endeavors to kill some time. However, there’s also a simple way to change the time of day, allowing you to promptly begin a quest either in the morning or at night. Here’s what you’ll need to do.
Rather than waiting around in real-time, you can use the wait feature to effectively make it night or day in Hogwarts Legacy. This will essentially change the clocks depending on when you’ve chosen to use it. When activated during the day, for example, your character will sit down and wait until night. Conversely, you can choose to wait out the night to rise early in the morning.
To do this, just open your map from the game’s pause menu. At the bottom of your screen, you’ll see a few directives laid out, including the option to wait . Select this directive and confirm to change the time instantly. We’ve outlined the steps above for a visual representation.
Throughout your playthrough, you’ll come across several quests that must be completed at a certain time. For example, The High Keep must be initiated at night. Because time-specific quests can only be triggered at a designated point in the day, you’ll want to use the wait feature to turn the tides in your favor and begin as soon as possible.
Note that the wait option will take you from day to night and vice versa. You cannot advance the time by the hour. Also, the only place where you cannot wait is The Room of Requirement on the seventh floor.
