If you’re a PlayStation gamer, then you’re probably wondering: What is PlayStation Stars? We have your answer here. We’ll cover all the details, from the service’s background to features and use.
Moving into 2024, there’s a host of gaming services, programs, and platforms to make the most out of your experience with PlayStation titles. Announced back in 2022, PlayStation Stars is one of the latest to be added to the growing list of gaming must-haves. Members can claim a wide variety of digital collectibles based on the games they play and the progress they’ve made. What’s more, the program is totally free to use. Here’s everything you need to know about PlayStation Stars if you’re interested in joining and racking up rewards this year.
PlayStation Stars is a recently introduced loyalty program that’s now available for PlayStation gamers. It first launched back in October 2022, and it’s become a convenient way for players to claim exclusive rewards and collectibles by simply playing eligible titles, participating in events, and completing in-game challenges. But the perks don’t end there — you can earn points by completing user-specific campaigns based on the games you love to play. Unlike many other services, you can join Stars at no cost to start earning rewards.
To sign up for PlayStation Stars, you’ll need to start by logging into your PSN (PlayStation Network) account and becoming a member. When you do this, you can download the PlayStation app for iOS or Android to start your first campaign. From monthly challenges to user-specific objectives, you’re free to begin when and where you want.
While PlayStation Plus members will have access to an even greater selection of perks when they join Stars, you won’t need a paid subscription to the service to sign up for the new loyalty program. That said, you won’t get much out of Stars just by joining. In order to earn points and rewards, you’ll have to purchase game titles and spend time playing. In this way, the program makes a great companion app for avid gamers.
