In a study from iSeeCars.com , over 15 million pre-owned vehicles sold in 2019 were analyzed to determine which models were most likely to reach 200,000 miles or more. Topping the list is the Toyota Land Cruiser with more than 15% of these models reaching the 200,000-mile mark..
The longest lasting cars on the road include a mix of vehicles including full-size and midsize SUVs, hybrids, pickup trucks and sedans.
The top 15 models on the list each have at least 2.5% of their vehicles (two-and-a-half times more than average) reach 200,000 miles. When shopping for a new ride, a reliable ride is a priority. Start by checking out these long-lasting vehicles.

Overall, the study found that Toyota had the most vehicles likely to hit 200,000 miles across all vehicle categories. Toyota holds 7 of the 15 top spots on the list, including the Land Cruiser, Sequoia, Highlander Hybrid, 4Runner, Tundra, Avalon and Tacoma.
The Toyota Land Cruiser is a full-size SUV, and the 2020 model has a MSRP of $85,415. Under the hood is a 5.7-liter V8 8-speed automatic transmission. The interior is roomy and luxe boasting leather-trimmed heated/ventilated seats, pre-collision system, keyless entry/start, JBL audio system with navigation and more. The likelihood of a car hitting 300k miles isn’t great. In fact, across all models that hit 200,000 miles, on average only 0.03% of those vehicles will make it to 300,000 miles. If you’re one of few to have a car that makes it to this mileage mark, you’re probably driving a Toyota as well.
Again, the Toyota Land Cruiser topped the list with 1.5% of these vehicles crossing over the 300k mark.
Other brands making this limited list include Ford (Expedition), Chevrolet (Suburban) and GMC (Yukon XL).
Toyota also came out on top for having the longest-lasting hybrid models. Lexus and Ford hybrid models round out the top five list.
When it comes to cars, the list of reliable rides is made up of models from Toyota, Honda, Mercedes-Benz and Chevrolet. The top spot in this category goes to a minivan: the Honda Odyssey .
