Do you have a problem where the transfercase oil level goes down and the transmission oil level goes up? This is caused by a failure of the seal between the transfercase and transmission, allowing the transfercase to pump its oil into the transmission. In extreme cases the transmission will overfill creating a mess when it starts to leak out of the shift tower and out of the input shaft seal soaking the clutch disc. The transfercase will then contain very little oil accelerating wear and possibly causing a great deal of internal damage. This kit allows the excess oil in the transmission to drain back into the transfercase. Kit includes fittings for both transmission and transfer fill ports and hose to connect them.
Is your gear shifting becoming more difficult, or does your transmission lock in reverse? Don’t be talked into an expensive transmission replacement or overhaul yet. If you have a 8/80 and Later transmission with a aluminum shift tower and find that the shifting out of reverse becoming more and more difficult, possibly having to lift the shift lever upward to get your transmission to shift, it’s time to replace the shift seat. It’s made of neoprene, so it does not last forever. Periodically changing this part will assist your shifting ability. At SOR we have found ground up pieces of the shift seats imbedded internally in the transmission we’ve serviced, this can cause an internal problem if you let this go for too long. It’s inexpensive and easy to install.
Over time the dowel pins in the shift tower can become worn and loose. Replacing the stock Toyota pins is difficult, requires removing the tower from the transmission and building tooling to install the pins. Our new kit allows you to install new dowel pins without removing the shift tower. Kit includes both pins, washers and nuts.

This is a Parking Brake Kit for post 8/80 Land Cruiser models who are installing a 4 speed or 5 speed transmission with a split transfercase. Some FJ40 models require modification of the frame member. Kit includes a rear output shaft, parking brake drum, rear bearing retainer, retainer gasket, case gasket, transfer shim set, output bearing, output seal, parking brake drum nut, and parking brake cable clip. Kit does not include backing plate assembly, parking brake cable, parking brake shoes, and related parts, if you do not already have these items they will need to be ordered separately.
