Pamela Leggett is the owner and designer of Pamelas Patterns, known for their built-in fit solutions and polished, wearable designs. A specialist in pattern fitting, garment construction, knits, and serging, Pamela brings a clear and encouraging teaching style to her patterns, videos, and classes. Her passion for helping sewists achieve great fit led her to the Palmer/Pletsch method and ultimately to creating Pamelas Patterns, which incorporate many common fit adjustments right into the drafting. Pamela is also a contributing writer, book author, and video personality for Threads Magazine, and has appeared on PBSs Sewing With Nancy and Canadas The Shopping Channel. Its no secret that Pamela loves to hack her own patterns! As she says: I no sooner get a new pattern designed, than I am thinking of other ways that it could be used! Lisa Shepard Stewart is a writer and designer based in New Jersey. In her books, African Accents: Fabrics and Crafts to Decorate Your Home and Global Expressions: Decorating with Fabrics from Around the World, Lisa encourages others to express themselves creatively through culturally relevant techniques and materials. She published her third book, African Accents On The Go! Designing Accessories with Cultural Style in June 2007, and in 2011 began publishing FABRIGASM magazine, for Lovers of African Textiles.
Lisa teaches classes and events internationally, and travels to Ghana to source artists, fabrics and materials. She also organizes and hosts SewJourns to Ghana, Colorado, Santa Fe and other fun destinations.
Lisa has written for various web sites, and trade and consumer publications. and has demonstrated several projects & techniques on HGTV , and its sister network, DIY, along with Discovery Channel and sewing & quilting programs on PBS. For four years (2001 to 2004), she was the craft columnist for the Star-Ledger, New Jerseyâs largest newspaper, serving a readership of over 450,000.
She graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York City with a Bachelors degree in Marketing and an Associate degree in Communications. She has held various positions in the sewing, craft, and textile industries, including creative director, writer/consultant, fabric buyer, merchandiser, and marketing manager. She opened CE's first studio location in downtown Rahway, NJ in December 2017.
Lisa's obsession with African textiles began in 1986, during a trip to Senegal, West Africa. In addition to sewing and fabric collecting, she is a part-time vegetarian whose other interests include travel, entertaining, holistic health, and yoga.
My passion for sewing and design started at the age of 5. My mother loves to tell the story of how I spent the day in my room "recreating" an apron I spied on a cover of Good Housekeeping from an old sheet and a hand needleruffles and all!

Rae Hoekstra is a sewing pattern designer and instructor. She learned to sew from her mother at a young age and has loved sewing ever since. A lifelong interest in fiber arts -- including garment sewing, quilting, knitting, and crochet led her to start a blog, Made by Rae , shortly after leaving her job as a high school physics teacher to stay home with her first child. Her blog is a popular spot for DIY and sewing tutorials. Rae designs sewing patterns for the home sewist with a focus on making garment sewing approachable for the confident beginner. She has also designed a number of fabric lines for Cloud9 Fabrics, taught online sewing courses for Creativebug, and enjoys teaching local sewing workshops and lessons and hosting local meetups. Deepika Prakash is the founder of PatternReview.com - A site she started in November 2001 when she couldn't find any sewing resources online. A lover of fabric and patterns she has a simple goal. "Everyone should sew!" and with this goal in mind she decided to teach her first video class right here on PatternReview.com. "Anybody CAN sew", she says.. Kenneth's love for sewing began 40 years ago, starting with Barbie when he was four years old. He started making clothes for himself in High school, and studied fashion merchandising in college. Haberdasher to the stars, Kenneth D. King has designed clothing, home furnishings, and accessories for Elton John, Jim Carrey, and others. He is professor of haute couture at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City and sewing expert on the PBS series Sewing Today. He is the author of the book Cool Couture .
