कार्यस्थल पर यौन उत्पीड़न (रोकथाम, निषेध और निवारण) अधिनियम, 2013 को कार्यस्थल पर महिलाओं की सुरक्षा के लिए 9 दिसंबर, 2013 से लागू किया गया है।
हालाँकि, सरकारी और निजी कार्यबल का एक बड़ा हिस्सा अभी भी क़ानून के प्रावधानों और प्रभावशीलता के बारे में अंधेरे में है। यह अधिक संभावना है कि जब समस्या का समाधान नहीं किया जाता है, तो उत्पीड़न और भी बदतर हो जाएगा जिसके परिणामस्वरूप महिला कार्यबल की कमी और कई अन्य नकारात्मक प्रभाव होंगे।
ऐसे भी मामले सामने आए हैं जहां पुरुषों के निर्दोष होने के बावजूद, महिलाओं द्वारा केवल अपने व्यक्तिगत प्रतिशोध को संतुष्ट करने के लिए पॉश के तहत मामला दर्ज किया गया है।

POSH अधिनियम के अनुसार, हर एक कर्मचारी को इस अधिनियम के बारे में जानकारी होनी चाहिए। ‘लैंगिक उत्पीड़न’ का क्या अर्थ है और अगर लैंगिक उत्पीड़न हुआ तो निवारण प्रक्रिया किस प्रकार होती है आदि की जानकारी इस पाठ्यक्रम से मिलतीहैं।
यह पाठ्यक्रम कानून से भी परे इस सम्बन्ध में अधिक जानकारी प्रदान करता है। जैसे, लैंगिक उत्पीड़न के पूर्व लक्षण या कोई व्यक्ति लैंगिक उत्पीड़न रोकने के लिए परिवर्तन कैसे ला सकती है और इस प्रकार कार्यस्थल में सुरक्षा, विश्वास और न्याय का माहौल कैसे बनाए’, यह हम समझ सकतेहैं।
