Can an Emotional Support Animal Actually Make Anxiety Easier to Manage?

I've been dealing with anxiety and my pet has honestly been one of the few things that helps me feel more settled and supported. Now I'm moving into a new rental that has a strict no-pet policy, and I'm worried about having to give up a pet that has been important to me during this stressful period. I've been looking into whether an emotional support animal could be an option and what the proper process involves. I came across My ESA Therapist while researching ESA evaluations, but I'm still trying to understand how everything works. Has anyone else been in a similar situation with anxiety or depression and a no-pet rental? I'd really appreciate hearing about your experience and what steps you took.
