Children under 16 are eligible to hold Premium Bonds, Junior ISA and Investment Account. While Junior ISAs can only be opened and managed by the child’s parent or guardian, there are some different rules for other products.
Anyone over 16 can buy Premium Bonds for a child but will need to nominate someone to look after the child’s Bonds until they turn 16. This is what we call the ‘responsible person’ and will need to be a parent or guardian. The person completing the application should let their chosen responsible person know that they’re buying Premium Bonds for a child. This is because this person will need to provide evidence of identity and address for the child.
If you’ve been nominated as a responsible person for your child’s Premium Bonds, and have provided evidence of identity and address, you’ll be able to manage their Bonds online by logging in to your online account.
If you’re not registered, you can change your or your child's address or contact details online without having to create an account.
If you need to change your or your child's name, or want to use the post, please download and send us a paper form: Change Premium Bonds details by post
