Millie : I’m Millie and I’m in our school’s percussion band! Our music teacher, Mr Jones, started the band last year, and we can already play lots of songs. In our band we have xylophones, drums, cymbals, tambourines and keyboards. My favourite instrument is the xylophone – that’s what I play! In a percussion band, the most important thing is the rhythm, and Mr Jones makes sure that we all keep the same rhythm. Sometimes it’s difficult when we learn a new song. It helps if you move your feet at the same time! We mostly play well-known pop songs or songs from films. It’s really fun.
Connor : I’m Connor and I play the guitar. My mum’s a really good guitar player, and she’s teaching me to play. It was so difficult at first, and my fingers hurt! But now it’s OK, and I really love it. I practise a lot. I mostly play rock music. I’d really like to be in a band one day – playing the guitar and singing too. Perhaps I’ll even write my own songs. That’s my dream, to be in a rock band.
