"As winter tightens its grip on the Green Meadow, food grows scarce and danger lurks behind every hedge and stone wall. Old Granny Fox, wise, watchful, and far more clever than she lets on, knows that survival in the cold months depends not on strength, but on patience, planning, and wit. By her side is her grandson, Reddy Fox—young, proud, and far too sure of his own cleverness. When hunger gnaws at their bellies and easy meals disappear, Granny Fox decides it is time for Reddy to learn what true foxcraft really means. Farmer Brown’s hens would make a fine feast, but they are locked safely away, guarded by the ever-watchful Bowser the Hound. Charging in blindly would mean certain disaster. Instead, Granny leads Reddy on a series of daring nighttime hunts, teaching him subtle tricks of misdirection, timing, and restraint—lessons Reddy never expected to learn. Together, the two foxes face a string of close calls and clever escapades: a narrow escape from Farmer Brown’s boy, a bold and sneaky plan to steal Bowser’s own supper, and the constant risk of being seen, heard, or outwitted. Just when they think they have mastered every trick in the meadow, an unforeseen thief appears—one who may be just as sly as Granny Fox herself. Filled with suspense, humor, and timeless wisdom, Old Granny Fox is a charming tale of survival, humility, and the passing down of hard-earned knowledge from one generation to the next. This classic woodland adventure reminds listeners that true cleverness is quiet, experience matters more than pride, and even the smartest fox still has something to learn. Perfect for children and families, this enduring story brings the Green Meadow vividly to life, where every rustle in the grass could mean dinner—or danger."

"11-year-old actor Eden Giuliano presents a brand new line of exciting children's stories from Icon! A Christmas Carol, is a novella by the great Charles Dickens, first published in London by Chapman & Hall in 1843 and illustrated by John Leech. A Christmas Carol recounts the story of Ebenezer Scrooge, an elderly miser who is visited by the ghost of his former business partner Jacob Marley, and the spirits of Christmas Past, Present, and Yet to Come. After their visits, Scrooge is transformed into a kinder, gentler man. The now classic tale was written at a time when the British were exploring and re-evaluating past Christmas traditions, including carols and newer customs such as Christmas trees. He was influenced by the experiences of his own youth and by the Christmas stories of other authors including Washington Irving and Douglas Jerrold. Dickens had written three Christmas stories prior to the novella, and was inspired following a visit to the Field Lane Ragged School, one of several establishments for London's street children. The treatment of the poor and the ability of a selfish man to redeem himself by transforming into a more sympathetic character are the key themes of the story. There is discussion among academics as to whether this was a fully secular story, or if it is a Christian allegory. A Christmas Carol captured the zeitgeist of the mid-Victorian revival of the Christmas holiday. Dickens had acknowledged the influence of the modern Western observance of Christmas and later inspired several aspects of Christmas, including family gatherings, seasonal food and drink, dancing, games and a festive generosity of spirit. The Original Unpublished Manuscript Alice's Adventures Underground
"11-year-old actor Eden Giuliano presents a brand new line of exciting children's stories from Icon! This is the handwritten book that Carroll wrote for private use before being urged to develop it later into Alice in Wonderland. It was generously illustrated by Carrol and meant to entertain his family and friends. When a sick child in a hospital enjoyed it so much, the mother wrote him saying it had distracted her for a bit from her pain and led eventually to Carroll expanding the story. The Reverend Charles Lutwidge Dodgson and the Reverend Robinson Duckworth rowed in a boat, on 4 July 1862, up the Isis with the three young daughters of Henry Liddell, (the Vice-Chancellor of Oxford University and Dean of Christ Church) : Lorina Charlotte Liddell (aged 13, born 1849); Alice Pleasance Liddell (aged 10, born 1852); Edith Mary Liddell (aged 8, born 1853). The journey began at Folly Bridge near Oxford and ended five miles away in the village of Godstow. During the trip the Reverend Dodgson told the girls a story that featured a bored little girl named Alice who goes looking for an adventure. The girls loved it, and Alice Liddell asked Dodgson to write it down for her. He began writing the manuscript of the story the next day, although that earliest version no longer exists. The girls and Dodgson took another boat trip a month later when he elaborated the plot to the story of Alice, and in November he began working on the manuscript in earnest. Aesop's Fables - Illuminations From Aesop's Fables A Treasury Of Lost Tales
"11-year-old actor Eden Giuliano presents a brand new line of exciting children's stories from Icon! Remember the story of the Ant and the Grasshopper? the Fox and the Sour Grapes? The Boy who Cried Wolf? These wonderful tales and hundreds more have been passed down to us over the centuries. The man credited with writing them, Aesop, was an Ancient Greek slave born about 620 B.C. Aesop is known as a fabulist or story teller credited with a number of fables shining glaringly true light on our human foibles now collectively known as Aesop's Fables. Although no writings by him survive, numerous tales credited to him were gathered across the centuries and in many languages in a storytelling tradition that continues to this day. Many of the tales are characterized by animals and inanimate objects that speak, solve problems, and generally have human characteristics. Scattered details of Aesop's life can be found in ancient sources, including Aristotle, Herodotus, and Plutarch. An ancient literary work called The Aesop Romance tells an episodic, probably highly fictional version of his life, including the traditional description of him as a strikingly ugly slave who by his cleverness acquires freedom and becomes an adviser to kings and city-states. A later tradition depicts Aesop as a black Ethiopian. But whatever his history, the fables depict truths about human behavior, our strengths and weakness that have remained true for 2500 years. An Icon Young People's Classic Oliver Twist
"11-year-old actor Eden Giuliano presents a brand new line of exciting children's stories from Icon! "Please sir, I want some more,' the famous line spoken by Oliver Twist at age nine, becomes the tipping point of a huge change in Oliver's life. He is soon captured into the service of the evil Fagin and his gang of pick-pocketing boys. Mr. Brownlow, however, saves him from arrest, and for the first time in his young life Oliver finds comfort and caring. Unfortunately, he is soon recaptured into the seedy world from which he he had escaped, and meets with Bill Sykes, a highly dangerous criminal. There are numerous delightful and suitably wicked characters which carry the story along, such as the clever, Artful Dodger, a mean boy of the streets under Fagin, Mr. Bumble the Beadle, ever looking for ways to get rid of the naughty Oliver, Nancy who makes a fateful betrayal, and the Maylies, whose deep affection Oliver craves. The author's descriptions of the back street life in London of that time, illumine the abject poverty and the way in which the hopeless poor were treated during that time. Charles Dickens wrote Oliver Twist as a popular newspaper serial in 1837. We know you will enjoy this very special series from Icon Audio Arts hosted by young Eden Giuliano!
