Idgah and Other Stories
"Munshi Premchand is regarded as one of the most prolific writers in Hindi/Urdu literature. His simple stories with deep meanings add a touch of nostalgia and longing to our everyday life. This book has three of Premchand's most loved short stories. We meet Hamid, a poor boy, in Idgah as he heads to the fairground on the festival of Id. We see that his pockets are empty of money but his heart is full of love and understanding. Buddhu the shepherd and Jhingoor the farmer in Mukti Marg get involved in a fight and take revenge on each other. Will their evil deeds bring them satisfaction or make them regret their mistakes? In Panch Parmeshwar, lifelong friends, Jumman Sheikh and Algu Choudhary come face to face with questions of friendship, loyalty and responsibility."
Geetika Jain (Author), Shobha Tharoor Srinivasan (Narrator)
"Was there ever a man so perfect, a ruler so noble, a son so devoted? Outrageous expectations perhaps but they all came true in Lord Rama.Lord Rama, the seventh avatar of Lord Vishnu was born to reinstate dharma at a time when it was threatened. But the life of the heir to Ayodhya's throne was one of endurance. Banished to the forest by his own father, Lord Rama, his divinely beautiful wife Sita and faithful brother Lakshmana settle down in Panchavati. Life seems peaceful. But will it stay this way? Why does trouble follow them? How and when will Lord Rama encounter the demon king Ravana? Written in a lucid style that is easy for children to read and with illustrations that transcend boundaries, this timeless epic is brought to you in a refreshingly new format. The book is more than just retelling the classic epic. It also gives the background of a unique ancient culture that has survived through centuries. The fresh new format awakens the imagination in the young readers by giving them certain interesting questions and themes from the story to ponder over."
Prema Jayakumar (Author), Shobha Tharoor Srinivasan (Narrator)

The Happy Prince, and Other Tales
"A charming collection of children's stories by Oscar Wilde The Happy Prince This is the tale of an unhappy prince and how he teaches generosity and love to a small sparrow who becomes his friend. The Nightingale and the Rose A nightingale overhears a student complaining that his professor's daughter will not dance with him, as he is unable to give her a red rose. The nightingale visits all the rose-trees in the garden, and one of the roses tells her there is a way to produce a red rose, but only if the nightingale is prepared to make a sacrifice. The Selfish Giant There once was a giant who had the most beautiful garden, but he refused to share it with the children in his village. When springtime refuses to visit the garden, the giant becomes sad and angry—until he meets a little boy who teaches him how to love others. The Devoted Friend A young lad is befriended by a prosperous farmer, who takes advantage of the boy's generosity and only gives him broken promises in return. But the young lad continues to be generous, even though his last act of kindness costs him dearly. Only then does the farmer changes his tune. The Remarkable Rocket The king's son was to be married, and there was to be a superb fireworks display for the event. All the rockets and different kinds of fireworks were excited about their big moment. But the Rocket was very arrogant and self-important, causing problems for all of the fireworks."
