Young children will be able to provide a musical accompaniment to the Christmas festivities with this appealing novelty book. At the bottom is a sturdy keyboard, notes coded with coloured circles or stars, and on each pages there’s a favourite Christmas song or carol, nine in all, and a colour key so that children can pick out the tune.
There’s a little introduction to each piece of music while extra notes at the beginning encourage children to listen to the sounds and chords the different notes make, and to try out their own tunes too. Each note is represented by a different colour, which corresponds to the same colour on the keyboard, allowing even very young children to pick out the tunes. Tunes include 'Jingle Bells', 'Silent Night', 'We Three Kings' and 'Deck the Halls'.
Sam Taplin grew up in a beautiful valley in Yorkshire, where he dreamed of being a writer, and after three years reading other people's books at university he started writing his own for Usborne. He's been doing it ever since.
When he's not writing about lonely rabbits or inquisitive bears, he likes doing card tricks, writing songs and playing long games of chess by the fire.
