As the title makes clear, this fascinating book illustrates prehistoric creatures at actual size or, where the creature was simply too big to fit on the page, a part of the animal at actual size. On the first spread, the reader comes face to face with a velociraptor, its head spread across the double page, its beady eye drawing the attention.
Gatefold pages provide space for an illustration of the bird-like Saltopus in full, and a close up on the huge claw of the fish-eating Baryonyx. One double page provides a dramatic close up on the teeth of the Giganotosaurus. The collage-style illustrations are beautiful in themselves, and this book really has the wow factor.
