With the action taking place in deepest, darkest night, this is a perfect bedtime book. Something in the forest is making a horrible noise and disturbing the animals. Owl, Bear, Mouse and Moose decide it must be a monster and hide in a tree, squeezing up to make room for Wolf Cub, until the inevitable happens and the bough breaks.
As they fall down, each of them cries out, and we find out who’s been making the AAA-OOO! Every page is a glorious deep black, the animals picked out in vibrant colours and it’s beautiful to look at.
