Olivia is a favourite children’s character with sales in the millions and now after a longish break she’s back in a brand new adventure. In it the normally irrepressible Olivia is a bit down; after a series of mishaps that could happen to anyone (blueberry smoothie up the kitchen wall, a machine load of shirts dyed pink), she overhears her mother discussing what should be done with her.
People who eavesdrop never hear good – in her own words Olivia picks up only ‘partial truths and misinformation’ and is left feeling ‘insecure and suspicious’ ! All works out well of course but it makes for a wonderful and very droll story. Olivia is one in a million, a character to charm readers of all ages and Ian Falconer has produced another tour de force. ~ Andrea Reece
Everyone's favourite pig is about to have a surprise trip to the ballet! But when Olivia overhears her mother complaining about her recent naughty behaviour, her imagination runs wild and she decides to find out everything being said about her . . . until her eavesdropping leads her to believe she is being carted off to prison!
