Working on the principle that the best way to teach is show not tell, this cleverly designed book uses the lift-the-flap format to introduce concepts of size, weight and measuring in general to the very young. A lively spread showing jungle animals asks children to find the long snake, the slow tortoise and the tall giraffe, while a scene set in the playground lets children compare size by counting brightly coloured blocks to measure different lengths and widths.
