Despite initial tensions Griffin becomes friends with his cousin Cinnamon and when the two witness a daring robbery of a priceless but sinister antique from the town’s museum they face very real danger together. Fast-moving, with a great sense of the natural world as well as hints at supernatural beings – good and bad – this is a thoroughly satisfying tale of young people saving the day.

Sharon Tregenza was born in Penzance, Cornwalland now lives in Box, outside Bath. Her first children's book Tarantula Tide won the Kelpie Prize and the Heart of Hawick Award and was longlisted for the Branford Boase prize. Her second novel, The Shiver Stone (Firefly Press, 2014) was highly commended for the Welsh Children's Book Award, the Tir, Na N'og. The Jewelled Jaguar is her third novel.
