A beautiful picture book about friendship and art. Bob and Bat are best friends. Then one day Bat leaves a note for Bob explaining that he has to go away for a while.

Bob the artist is feeling sad. His friends rally around him to help him through his blue period.
When Bob's best friend Bat goes away to hibernate, Bob can't help but feel sad. Everything he paints is blue - a blue banana, a blue tree, and even a blue orange. Bob's friends start to worry that Bob's blue period might last forever. But then they have an idea...
They wake Bob up early one morning and tell him there's something he must see. A spectacular sunrise, glowing with all the colours of the rainbow, fills Bob's world with colour again, just in time for Bat's return.
Author of the best-selling Let's Make Some Great Art series, Marion Deuchars is a Scottish-born, award-winning illustrator with a globally recognizable style. Her books have won six international awards for design and illustration. She is a member of the Alliance Graphique Internationale and one of six designers to represent the UK at Helsinki's World Design Capital celebrations. She lives in North London with her husband and two children.
