Mandy Stanley was born in Lowestoft, Suffolk. She has a BA from Nottingham University which led her initially into a career in fashion. A subsequent interest in the drawing and illustrative areas of her occupation, coupled with an earlier course at Great Yarmouth College of art and design, initiated a move into freelance illustrative work.
Early work on baby products was followed by illustrations in childrens books. The natural progression was then to create her own characters, beginning with ‘Babe’.
Mandy has a great love of films particularly children’s films and regularly attends theatre and ballet. She has won awards for soft toy designs for young children on sale throughout the country.
She continues to work as a designer and illustrator in Suffolk.
