P.G. Bell’s debut The Train to Impossible Places established him as a writer of hugely exciting, inventive and satisfying adventure, and its sequel, The Great Brain Robbery , is just as good, if not even better. Once again 11-year-old Suzy is aboard the Impossible Postal Express tearing through the fantastical realms that make up the Union of Impossible Places, and this time it’s a do or die mission to save Trollville from a thoroughly nasty villain.
Suzy is much more at home now with fuzzics, the strange mix of science and magic that lies at the heart of troll technology, though there are still some fabulous surprises in store for her and readers. Adventure doesn’t come more exciting or entertaining, and this is one train young readers really mustn’t miss.

P.G. Bell is a native of south Wales, where he was raised on a diet of Greek mythology, ghost stories, and Doctor Who. What I enjoyed most about this book were the twists and turns of the adventure and how you never know what will happen next.
The Great Brain Robbery is the next exciting adventure in the Train To Impossible Places series. The story returns with Suzy Smith, Fletch, Stonker and all her friends from the Impossible Postal service, on another rip-roaring adventure. Shortly after returning to the magical world of the Postal Express, disaster strikes Trollville, when a mysterious earthquake threatens the whole city. When Suzy overhears an evil plan that will lead Trollville into danger, Suzy and her friends embark on a race against time to save everything they care about. The story takes them through the magical lands of Cloud Forge, the Uncanny Valley and an underground cave, on a quest to find answers and to put a stop to a hooded villain.... Read Full Review
An exciting, gripping adventure full of wonderful characters.
This is a very exciting book full of adventure and each chapter ends making you want to read on to see what happens next! I enjoyed the different characters and it took me a while to remember who was who. I loved the way Suzy has some great friends in Trollville and they worked together to help repair the city after an earthquake. As in all good adventure stories, things don’t always go to plan!
I hadn’t read the previous book that this one followed on from, however, it didn’t really matter because it referred back to it, which made things clearer.... Read Full Review
