Emma Lazell is a UK-based illustrator and author. Her work is linear, expressive, and sprinkled with irony and playfulness. In 2018 she completed the hugely prestigious MA in Children's Book Illustration at Cambridge School of Art, Anglia Ruskin University, graduating with a distinction. In 2014 she graduated with an undergraduate degree in Illustration from The University for the Creative Arts.

A funny, exciting story about a clever, spotty dog and a pair of rather silly, dastardly villains! We loved the chaotic, colourful and fun illustrations and the satisfying ending. One to read and enjoy over and over again!
My little boy loved this book. He enjoyed seeing all the different spotty animals and figuring out as the book went on that Penny and Pat are the villains, not the heroes of the story! He loves animals, so he thought it was great fun that the rather silly Pat kept on getting mixed up with what sort of animal he was meant to be stealing for the dastardly Penny. There were lots of giggles when he found the very long, spotty snake and the "far too hoppy" rabbit. By far the most satisfying part of the story for both of us, though, was when the clever, spotty dog brings the police to the door and the villainous pair are taken away in handcuffs! The illustrations were bright, fun and chaotic with loads to look at on every page.... Read Full Review
Fun and interesting.
This is all about a clever spotty dog who stops the robbers. I liked the dog helping the police catch the bad guys. The spotty dog was very funny and Pat the robber was silly because he kept getting the wrong animals! The pictures were all very fun too!
