There is much literature to be found on Anne Frank but if one book only is what you want, this is certainly the one to have. In addition to extracts from her diary, a terrific narrative of the story of her life both before and after her arrest, there are also many never before seen photographs of Anne, her family and friends. It’s essential reading for children to acquire a greater understanding of an important but horrific part of our history and it is also hugely inspirational.
'Will I ever be able to write something great, will I ever become a journalist or a writer? I hope so, oh, I hope so very much, because writing allows me to record everything, all my thoughts, ideals and fantasies.' This is what Anne Frank confided in her diary on 5 April 1944. Her wish did come true, but she herself was never to know that.
