This is the second in a stunning debut trilogy from a mother and young son partnership. The trilogy is the extraordinarily imaginative retelling of the Greek myth of Medusa but seen through the eyes of a young shepherd boy called Corydon. This is true action and adventure but with a thorough grounding in an unputdownable classical myth. In this second in the trilogy, the minotaur is kidnapped and it is up to Corydon to undertake a mission across dangerous seas before Atlantis is destroyed. Corydon and the Island of Monstors is the first in the trilogy with the third one planned for the middle of 2007.
Life has been pretty peaceful for shepherd-boy Corydon and the other monsters since their epic battle with the heroes. Then the Minotaur is kidnapped and Corydon and his friends are faced with a rescue mission: a mission which will lead them on a dangerous voyage across the sea, all the way to the celebrated city of Atlantis. But Atlantis is a city riven by secrets, with a war between the gods threatening to tear it apart.

Tobias Druitt is the pseudonym for Diane Purkiss and her son, Michael Dowling. Diane is Tutor in English at Keble College, Oxford, and the first Oxford English Faculty member since C S Lewis and JR R Tolkien to publish a children's book. Her key academic interests are classical literature, and women in literature. Her co-author, Michael, is ten years old and one of the stars of the Channel 4 documentary: Child Genius, aired in January 2008. They live in Oxford.
