Wick lives in Harklights Match Factory and Orphanage. Run by the cruel and wicked Old Ma Bogey it is a terrible place of suffering for all the children who live there. Our story begins in the gothic Harklights Match Factory and Orphanage, where our hero Wick works tirelessly for the dreadful Old Ma Bogey. He dreams only of escaping, until one day a bird drops something impossible and magical at his feet - a tiny baby in an acorn cradle...As midnight chimes, Wick is visited by the Hobs who are miniature protectors of the forest. Tim Tilley grew up on the outskirts of Leicester, and studied Illustration at Anglia Ruskin University and Central Saint Martins. He works as a freelance illustrator for editorial and design clients and teaches children's book illustration at City Lit in London.
