A group of hungry creatures are searching for their dinner in this Arctic-set picture book, and none of them get it. That might sound disappointing, but from the point of view of the plankton, almost eaten by the sprats, or the sprats, narrowly avoiding the bigger fish, who just escapes the penguin, who in turn avoids the polar bear … well, things look different. Written in rhyme and with gentle illustrations by Silke Diehl this makes a fun bedtime story. Added extras include the Polar Bear’s Song.
Penguin Crush tells the story of life near the North Pole, from looking at the smallest creature in the sea, a plankton, to a mighty polar bear hunting on the ice. A penguin who is on holiday from the South Pole and an Eskimo get caught up in the story and the Crush happens.
Ian wrote The Crush Series books many years ago, along with hundreds of poems, both to keep his 4 young children happy and occupied on family holidays, as well as to be able to discuss and explain the circle of life. As Ian’s career in surveying grew, as did his children, and so his love of writing took a back seat in his life. The tragic death of Ian’s son Robert at the age of 27 led to him dusting off the draft of his books and getting them published as The Crush Series. He also established a charitable foundation in his son’s name.

A funny rhyming story about animals eating others.
This is a funny book about animals and who eats who in the North Pole. It's really funny and cool, because they are all trying to catch each other to eat, there's a man trying to shoot the polar bear too, but it all goes wrong. The penguins were my favourites but it was quite annoying because penguins never go to the North Pole so that spoilt it a bit because that is wrong.... Read Full Review
