My name is Harper Drew. I wasn't sure I was going to carry on with this journal. I started it in the summer holidays to write down the mayhem happening around me. For starters there is a snake on the loose in my neighbourhood - a 6ft Python called Betty to be exact, my dad's decided to re-tile the bathroom and NOBODY is allowed in there, and my older brother Troy seems to be constantly kitted out in expensive designer clothing.
I'm the only one who has noticed he's acting shifty ... But I need to focus on organising a talent show to raise money for the local foodbank. It's going to be great ... apart from the fact Troy seems to care more about gaining more followers, aka his DesTroyers on his YouTube channel, than he does about helping me out.
Can Harper find a way to show her brother that kindness is more important than being popular? The second book of a relatable new illustrated series, all about embracing your family, and finding unique ways to deal with life's dramas.
Before starting work on her children's fiction series, Kathy had quite a few jobs. She has worked on the music counter at WH Smith, been an investment banker, a waitress, a property developer, investigated missing millions for The Sultan of Brunei, founded a successful consulting business, worked for HM Treasury restructuring banks, oh....and cooked dinners at a care home for the elderly.
But her love of writing was sparked when collaborating on the best-selling children's non-fiction titles You Are Awesome and Dare to be You with Matthew Syed. Kathy believes that children should all have confidence in their own potential, and not be limited by the beliefs they (or others) hold about themselves.

When Harper and her chaotic family find out about a missing python in the neighbourhood, her whole family goes crazily overboard. With her mum re-arranging furniture and using too many cleaning products and her father starting a whole new process of retiling the bathroom, Harper tells us the drama that goes on within her family household. While her mum SNAKEPROOFS herself, her brother spends 1 HOUR doing his nightly hair routine and her father stands outside in the pouring weather SHOWERING, Harper returns to carefully work out different fundraising activities she and her friends 'THE TRIPLE THREAT' can continue!

Harper always finds a way to solve the problem! If you enjoyed Diary of a Wimpy Kid, I think you'll enjoy this as well, a funny, light hearted read!
Reading this book I soon realised that Harper's older brother is very spoilt! I would not want him to be my brother, he seems very self centred and never put Harper's feelings first. Not only does Harper have to live with her older brother, she also has lots of other problems such the missing ring, the talent show, a snake on the loose and a broken shower! Harper deals with all of this as best she can but without much help from her family. Her parents seems to make all of Harper's problems even worse, this made the book quite funny though. Her mum made me laugh when she tried to snake proof herself! I really liked Harper as she made me smile and I think we would be good friends. The way Harper dealt with everything was hilarious, she always sorts it out in the end!... Read Full Review
What's New Harper Drew is a very funny diary based book about a girl called Harper and her hilarious family. If you like Dork Diaries you will LOVE this.
What's New Harper Drew is about a girl called Harper and she has a very weird family. Her older brother has a YouTube channel where he does silly challenges. Her mum always wears a wetsuit, because of the snake incident. Her grandparents, Lesley and Wesley, love to have the latest gadgets.
