What a treat this excellent information book will be for young shark lovers. It’s been designed, written and illustrated with real care to give readers a proper understanding of sharks and shark behaviour.
It includes its fair share of fascinating facts, but all presented with context and details to explain the whys and hows. I particularly like the explanation for shark superpowers, including their ability to detect electrical signals via the ampullae of Lorenzini, an amazing name for an incredible superpower as the book says.
From hunting to habitat, baby sharks to bioluminesce, there’s so much to discover and so much explained so well. Vicky Barker’s illustrations are very attractive too and complement Susan Martineau’s text perfectly.
