Dad is desperate for Lewis to win a place at the town’s posh school, but Lewis can’t concentrate on anything until he’s solved the mystery of what is going on, who’s behind it, and how it relates to the sad story of Gretel. At least he can rely on not-really-Moira, who turns out to be a very special friend.

I loved this book because I couldn't predict what would happen next. Whilst I was reading I felt a lot of emotions like suspicion, betrayal... I couldn't put it down.
I loved this book because I couldn't predict what would happen next. Whilst I was reading I felt a lot of emotions like suspicion, betrayal, happiness and sadness. It was a book where as soon as I picked it up I just couldn't put the book down. I would recommend this book to any 10-13 year olds who love adventure and fiction. The strange birds had such good character because to everyone else they were almost like a death mark but they did help Lewis along when he needed it. I think the moral of the story was that you should see both sides of the picture before you jump to a conclusion because no one knew what was going on in the bog witch's brain.... Read Full Review
