Billie the bee is determined to take part in her local pet show. She teams up with a little boy looking for a pet and before you can say, ‘get buzz-y’ the two are in training.
When they get to the show, the boy has a piece of advice for Billie: don’t buzz. He knows some people are funny about bees and sure enough, when Billie has to use her wings and starts buzzing, pandemonium breaks out. Alison Brown studied Fine Art at Liverpool John Moores University and Goldsmiths College, London, and worked as a designer in an advertising agency before becoming a full-time writer and illustrator. She learned to draw by copying cartoon strips from her comics and her father’s newspapers, particularly the Peanuts cartoons by Charles M. Schulz. She lives in Leeds.
