It’s been snowing, just in time for the Winter Fair too and Kitty, the little superhero is very excited. Soon she’s in the park building snowpeople and snowcats too with her Cat Crew. But someone spoils their fun, in the park and at the Winter Fair, throwing snowballs at people and trampling their snow creations.
Kitty is surprised to discover that it’s another superhero and one who clearly doesn’t know that superheroes are supposed to help people. But when they hear cries for help from a rabbit whose babies are in trouble, the two of them make a great team.
Paula Harrison’s sweet little stories are just the right balance of drama and cosiness, and Kitty’s nighttime world is super-appealing in Jenny Løvlie’s illustrations. With short chapters, such lively stories and those lovely pictures, they’re perfect for independent reading too.
Kitty is a superhero-in-training with feline superpowers. She dreams of being just like her superhero mum one day, but she's still got a lot to learn. Join her for a series of enchanting adventures by the light of the moon.

‘Jenny Løvlie sets an incredible scene with her dramatic black and orange illustrations on almost every page’ - Kirkus Reviews
Paula Harrison began inventing stories and writing them down as a child. One of her best was about a magical land inhabited by talking bookworms. After taking an English degree, she became a primary school teacher and is now married with two children. She loves inspiring children's imaginations and believes that day-dreaming can be a really good use of your time (although she hasn't actually said that during a lesson). Over the years, she's shared many different authors' books with children, and now she can't wait to share her own.
Paula says: “The beginnings of the idea for The Rescue Princesses came when I watched my daughters playing. They were racing around the garden pretending to be Princesses who could go anywhere and do anything they liked. That set me thinking: in a world where anything is possible, Princesses won’t be sitting around on thrones. They’ll be out there, proving they’re better than the Princes!”
Paula Harrison is the author of Red Moon Rising (for older readers) and The Rescue Princesses (a younger series). She wanted to be a writer from a young age but spent many happy years being a primary school teacher first. She finds inspiration in lots of things from cloud shapes to snippets of conversation. She loves sandy beaches and eating popcorn. She lives with her husband and children in Buckinghamshire, which is nowhere near the sea. Whenever possible, she packs her family into the car and journeys far and wide to find a sandy beach where she can paddle in the waves.
