As well as writing and illustrating his own books, Jamie Hammond is a designer of many famous children's books. He grew up in Sheffield but now lives in Cambridgeshire with his husband and his pug. Grumpfort is his first book, which he wrote to celebrate bravery, friendship, being kind and being unique, and to reflect the characters he wished he'd grown up with.
