Quinn and her mums plus younger brother Olly are off on their summer holidays. They’ve been going to the same seaside hotel for years and are ready for the usual happy time, days spent surfing, evenings enjoying the hotel entertainment. But this year things are different: an accident resulting in a broken arm gives Quinn a reason to avoid the surfing, which she’s never really liked, but more important, her mums have revealed that she and her brother might have other siblings.
Thinking about these diblings, as the family term them, makes Quinn contemplate who she is and where she belongs, until another accident reveals just how tight-knit her family is and allows everyone to be truly honest. As she tries to secretly find out more, Quinn starts to lose sight of what really important - especially when she starts to believe her worst enemy could be one of her siblings! Can she find a way back to her family, whilst finding a way to tell them how she really feels?
Kristina Rahim is a writer and lives in London with her wife and two daughters. Before writing, Kristina worked in the property industry, building homes out of disused garages and scraps of land. She now spends her days building middle grade and YA novels. She was runner-up in the Golden Egg Award fiction competition 2022. Her début middle grade novel, The Doughnut Club , was named as the winner of the PFD Queer Fiction Prize 2023 and was published in 2025 by Nosy Crow.

An amazing book that has helped me understand donor children, and they ideas around diblings. I loved it and cannot wait for more of their adventures.
The Doughnut Club is a very enjoyable book, that taught me and my dad lots of things about donor children and their ‘Diblings’. It left me wanting to read more adventures of the family. My favourite character was Quinn as they are really curious just like me, I enjoyed following her journey as she wanted to discover more about her diblings. Towards the end of the book, it gets really exciting as she was off to meet one of her diblings, which kept me wanting me to keep reading and learn more. It was good seeing the character Olly change in the book and start wanting to join in with his family and put his screen down.
