This fun, rhyming story about a young fairy will have the world at its feet!
Fairy Femi loves nothing more than kicking a ball, or any ball-shaped object – pumpkin, apple, you get the picture. When the other fairies lose patience after one mis-kick too many, she’s banished, only to meet an elf who gives her the confidence to believe in herself and her shooting skills. It all ends well, with the ball in the back of the net and Femi signed up to play for Happily Ever After FC.
Fans of football, fairies, and finding your feet will all enjoy this story. The illustrations blaze with colour and detail and the text bounces along, whisking us from scene to scene. The final pages reinforce the message that win or lose, what really matters is having fun, and we can’t hear that often enough.
Elli Woollard started writing stories after an embarrassing incident in which her youngest son broke Michael Rosen's glasses. Having previousl written poetry, Elli's snappy rhymes, catchy, rhythms and witty stories have captured the imagination of the children's book world; from picture book collaborations with wonderfully talented illustrators such as Benji Davies ( The Giant of Jum and The Dragon and the Nibblesome Knight ), Steven Lenton ( The Great Gran Plan , 2017), to a first chapter book with the marvellous Laura Ellen Anderson ( Swashbuckle Lil: The Secret Pirate ). In everything she does, Elli Woollard brings a unique new voice to children's fiction, and is definitely an author to watch. She lives in London with her four children, her husband and two guinea pigs.
