Marvin and his grandad are enjoying a day out at Adventure Zone and meeting up with Grandad’s old friend Steve. Marvin is fascinated to learn that Steve used to be none other than supervillain Professor Feather, controller of a massive robotic duck that could fire sonic blasts from its beak and came very close to beating his grandad. Fortunately, Steve saw the error of his ways and gave up supervillainy.
It seems like his granddaughter Izzy is a chip off the bad old block though. First, she wants to cheat when they do youngsters versus oldie bowling then, much worse, Marvin sees her out riding the Duck of Doom. Time for him to transform into his superhero alter ego Marv and put a stop to this dastardly duck.
It’s not easy, but when Marv rescues Izzy from an unexpected dip in the pond, she realises superheroes trump supervillains. As ever, the story with its short chapters and lively two-colour illustrations, makes for great reading and there’s a useful lesson about how change can be a jolly good thing. Marv wins again!
Suit up, step up, it's time to become a hero!
When ordinary boy Marvin wears his super-suit he becomes MARV. A superhero with infinite powers . . .
In this story, Marvin meets a blast from his grandad's past when the Duck of Doom shows up at the park, controlled by a new generation of super villain - Professor Feather 2.0. It's time for Marvin to become MARV-unstoppable, invincible, and totally MARVellous! With the Ducklings of Doom also hot on his heels, the odds are quacked against Marv. He's going to have to ruffle some feathers in order to put these dastardly ducks back in their place.
This eighth book in the MARV series is highly illustrated in two colour throughout, perfect for reluctant readers, newly confident readers, and to bridge the gap between picture books and independent reading
