Susannah Lloyd is the author of picture books Who Ate Steve, Here Be Giants, Here Be Dragons, Oh Monty, This Book Can Read Your Mind, and The Terribly Friendly Fox . Her books have been translated into ten languages. Badgers Are Go is her first foray into chapter books.
She loves reading stories, especially the ones you find in children's books. Libraries and bookshops are her happy place.
Her favourite book from childhood was Trubloff, The Mouse Who Wanted To Play The Balalaika , by John Burningham. It made her want to play the balalaika too, but, alas, she still cannot.
Her favourite food is trifle and her favourite words are ‘in cahoots’ and ‘hullabaloo’.
She wrote her first ever book when she was five, on her kitchen table, with the help of a large pot of felt tip pens and a stapler. It was about a fox, a wolf, a crow and a stolen balloon. It had a very mysterious ending. This was followed by an ambitious murder mystery series, started aged 11, abandoned aged 12. She is now making up for lost time.
Her books are inspired by old black and white movies, dusty stuffed animals in museums and all things small in the world.

From the very first page, it had us completely hooked with its lively storytelling, humour, and clever twists. Lulu is back to the rescue in another funny story!
I think you should read ‘Revenge of the Claw’ because it is about badgers Lulu and Wilfred on another mission. A new teacher has come to the Rumington Academy of Badgering and Lulu’s whiskers feel like something is wrong. I had to read on to find out if Lulu finds out what her whiskers are trying to tell her.
I think this book is suitable for readers who like mysteries and funny books like Bad Panda and Grimwood . My favourite character is Wilfred as he is funny and reliable. He’s always eating! The illustrations are hilarious and help to explain the story.... Read Full Review
Sticky, brave and funny- Lulu saves the day
Love that Lulu is back for another adventure. She is my favourite character as she is so funny and clever to try and beat the baddies. I loved the bit when Veronica Bagpipes fell on the banana skin that was so funny and when she put the cake on the Duke's head, that did make me laugh lots.... Read Full Review
