Perfect for sharing, How Are You Feeling Today? is packed with fun, imaginative ways to help children understand and cope with a whole range of different emotions.
This delightful book gives children the tools they need to deal with lots of different feelings - without it all ending in tears! It explores 12 common emotions, including happy, angry, excited, bored and embarrassed, and offers ideas for what children could do when they feel this way. This edition has also been fully updated with the latest guidance on developing children's emotional intelligence.
This is a great dip-in book where children can choose a feeling that relates to them and then turn to the page that provides child-friendly strategies for dealing with that feeling. Early Years and PSHE expert Molly Potter also provides notes at the back of the book for parents and carers explaining emotional literacy, and a Feelings Tracker for children to map out their emotions.
Let's Talk books help you start meaningful conversations with your child. Written by an expert and covering topics like feelings, relationships, diversity and mental health, these comforting picture books support healthy discussion right from the start.
Praise for It's Ok to Cry :
'The text [...] is very clear and will prompt lots of discussion. Equipped with the ability to articulate to themselves and others exactly how they are feeling and why will enable children to deal with strong emotions. The illustrations by Sarah Jennings are fun and friendly, and Potter's approach will prove very helpful for children, parents and teachers alike.' -- Chosen as book of the week - Books for Keeps
Molly Potter is a bestselling author of 35+ books for teachers, parents/carers and children covering a variety of topics under the broad umbrella term of ‘wellbeing’. She has spent many years teaching in both mainstream and specialist schools, helping children with emotional and behavioural difficulties to trust adults, develop self-esteem and learn to self-regulate. She has also been a county advisor on all things PSHE (personal, social, health and economic) with a special focus on RSE (relationships and sex education), where she developed her keen interest in helping children navigate life’s tricky bits! Her two children regularly roll their eyes at her openness when delivering the honest facts of life.
