Young people are all too aware of the threat to our planet and their future from the climate crisis, pollution, microplastics and greenhouse gases.
This pocket-sized guide explains the problems facing us but in a thoroughly reassuring and practical way; ‘Don’t panic’ is the message, there’s lots we can do together and the fight against climate change is happening.
As well as climate change, pollution, weather and natural disasters, there are chapters on health (human, animal and environmental), food and farming, entertainment and fashion, and each features explanations of key concepts, a brief introduction to an important person, a success story, ie environmental win, and suggestions of ways young readers can get involved and make a difference.
The information is presented clearly, with colour photos and diagrams throughout, the tone friendly and always can-do. There’s a list of websites at the back where readers can find out even more about the topic and a glossary of key words. Well designed, carefully written and presented, this little book will have a big impact.
