Michelle Beech’s illustrations of a leafy, green garden gradually becoming a moonlit jungle are full of a sense of wonder and magic, and her little protagonist grows in confidence and happiness before our eyes. The cut-through pages and gatefolds make the story even more immersive. It’s a book that will be enjoyed by everyone but that will have a particular resonance to anyone who wishes they could be a bit bolder, as will Tiger Don’t Worry by Daishu Ma, from the same publisher.

Michelle Beech is an illustrator and author from Devon, UK. She studied Illustration BA (Hons) at Falmouth University and MA Illustration at Plymouth University, and she loves to create enchanting characters and dreamlike settings through her watercolour illustrations.
