New from best-selling author Lee Newbery, this is a fantasy adventure with a twist: coding takes the place of magic, with its young protagonists, experts all in the monster-collecting role-playing game Holomonsters, discovering that they are facing much bigger odds than expected on a trip to the R&D offices.
Central character Newt is ecstatic to win a place at Holomonsters HQ to try out the new version of his favourite game. Things at home have been difficult since his mum left and his dad is clearly worried about money. But he’s shocked when he meets the new holomonsters, which are much bigger, fiercer, and alarmingly more sentient than what he’s used to; and why has the game’s motto changed from ‘Light Up Your Living Room’ to ‘Summon and Conquer’?
Newt needs the help of his friends, human and holograph, to take on the ruthless management team before things get completely and dangerously out of hand. Steeped in the excitement of game-playing, with a great cast of characters, and a thrill-a-minute plot, this will appeal to any young RPG fan or would be fantasy adventurer and is recommended too to fans of the Escape Room series from Christopher Edge.
Pokemon meets Jurassic World in this fantastic, action-packed new series.

Welcome to the world of Holomonsters - a game like no other . . .
In Holomonsters, the fantastical creatures depicted on game cards are projected into the real world as holograms, to do battle in playgrounds, homes and TV studios around the world. These holomonsters look completely real but are harmless projections.
But when superfan Newt Hawkin is invited to Holomonsters Global HQ to beta test a new form of the game, he soon discovers not all is as it seems. The holomonsters here seem more real than before - and increasingly unpredictable.
Soon Newt learns that the engineers behind Holomonsters are using magic to enhance the game to dangerous new levels. Can Newt stop them before the holomonsters break free from their creators' control for good . . . ?
'Fast and fun and danger at every turn, with a big heart! Brilliant!’ - Alex Kirk, author of Robots Stole My Mum
‘An action-packed, rip-roaring, nail-biting stonker of a story . . . fast, funny, and impossible to put down.’ - Iqbal Hussain, author of The Night I Borrowed Time
Lee Newbery lives with his husband, son and two dogs in a seaside town in West Wales. By day, he helps vulnerable people look for jobs and gain new skills, and by night, he sits down at his laptop to write.
Lee enjoys adventuring, drinking ridiculous amounts of tea and giving his dogs a good cuddle - or a cwtch, as they say in Wales.
