She lives in Chugiak, Alaska, where the dramatic landscapes of mountains and sea inspire her stories. Joseph is a children's book illustrator, graphic designer, and elementary school art teacher whose bright, playful artwork brings Hartman's rhythmic, nature-filled adventures to life. He lives in Colorado, where he teaches young artists and continues to create art full of movement, humor, and heart.
