Mice Tina and Tuck live in Ms Pigeon’s classroom at Boone School. Tuck is the class pet, though the wonky lock on his cage gives him freedom to roam, while Tina lives in the walls. In this episode, they join the children on a trip to the town’s museum, almost getting swept away on a balloon in the process.
But the real adventures include encounters with a would-be dinosaur bones thief, a daredevil flight in a model of the Booneville Bluebird aeroplane, narrowly avoiding Melvin the bear, escaped from the local zoo, and the heroic rescue of the school’s kidnapped principal.
The storylines weave together perfectly, and Tina’s action-packed narrative is delivered in short paragraphs of text supported by lots of illustrations to help carry the story along, making it perfect for readers ready to move from picture books to chapter books. The story has enough to keep adult readers entertained too and is great for solo or shared reading. A series to shelve alongside the Tiny Dogs or Witchy Boo books.
