Richard Hamilton lives in London with his wife and two daughters. He is the author of Polly's Picnic and Violet and the Mean and Rotten Pirates. As well as writing children's books, he also adapts novels for radio. Richard Hamilton on himself: I’ve worked at the BBC for a while now running BBC’s location library. I work part-time and as well as writing, abridge stories and books for Radio 4. In particular Book at Bedtime, Book of the Week, and the children’s programme, Go4It. It also means I get to spend a lot of great time with my two daughters (8 and 5) who are both my inspiration and my most generous critics.’
