Patience Thomson 1935-2020 was a writer, lecturer and expert on reading. She specialised in dyslexia, with a Masters from Bangor University, and was head teacher of Fairly House. She co-founded Barrington Stoke, a publisher of books for reluctant and dyslexic readers and was also a trustee of the Helen Arkell Dyslexia Centre.
