Bedtime rituals are invested with some sparkle as Dot and Dash get ready for bed. Dot is happy with it all but Dash’s not so sure and needs some help to get into it! Dash doesn’t want a bath but Dot shows her how much fun you can have with sparkly bubble bath and when Dash just wants to bounce about and not settle to sleep, Dot shows the delights of quiet reading with a glittering book before both settle down for a tranquil bedtime.
It's time for bed, but Dot and Dash are both full of mischief. They show each other how to get ready, and soon they are tucked up in bed. But Dot is scared, and doesn't want to turn out the light.

Emma Dodd was brought up in a family of artists and from as far back as she can remember she has wanted to be an illustrator. I Love My Mummy , written by Giles Andreae and illustrated by Emma, won the Booktrust award in 2010. Among Emma’s favourite things in life are surfing with her kids, punctuality and Scrabble. Things she cannot abide include heights, pate and children who complain that they are bored. ‘How can you ever be bored,’ she says, ‘when you can always draw a picture?’ Emma lives in Surrey.
